Martin Kitching left his teaching career in 2007 to set up Northern Experience Wildlife Tours with Sarah Barratt, the first female Chairman of the Northumberland & Tyneside Bird Club. Together they have a wealth of experience of the birds and other wildlife of Northumberland, including having found several top-class rarities between them.
As well as leading wildlife and birdwatching tours and holidays, Northern Experience are also one of the partners in the Northeast Cetacean Project, alongside Natural England, Marinelife and the Northumberland & Tyneside Bird Club, surveying the seabirds, White-beaked Dolphins, Minke Whales and other cetaceans of the North Sea.
