You and your friends have your own horses. You all love exploring new places but are not
sure where you can take your horses with you on holiday and have an exciting time?
Why not explore the Cheviot Hills?
Maps and route descriptions are provided for experienced riders with fit horses so they can explore this remote area of grassy hills with the certainty of a good meal and comfortable accommodation at the end of a long day for both horse and rider. There is normally a choice of stabling or grazing.
These routes have been prepared by an experienced endurance rider who has worked for many years to improve ridden access for the British Horse Society.
Boggy bridleways and difficult river crossings have been avoided. But there is still plenty of challenge as you ride over the Border Ridge and into Scotland miles from anywhere.
Bring your family and friends too. It doesn’t matter if they don’t ride. There are plenty of other things to do. For a start, just look at the other sections on this website!
